Last week we welcomed our newest personalized growth chart, Under the Sea! To celebrate we threw a ‘Design Your Dream Nursery’ Pinterest contest where you could enter for the chance to win a $100 gift card to help you decorate your nursery. Whether attending sports camps or playing on a team this summer, being involved in a team sport is great for kids’ physical health, while also teaching them about strategy and teamwork. So as parents, of course we’re big athletic supporters (um, well, you know what we mean!). And since our Batter Up Big Brother Tshirt has been such a big hit (pun intended!), we thought with the kids out of school for the summer, it’s the perfect time to expand our line of personalized shirts for kids to include soccer and football designs, as well as baseball Ts.

SNACK ATTACK!
If you’ve ever been on snack duty for your little one’s practices and games, you know there’s something pretty cool about being the parent that brings the best snacks and the idea of being that parent that brings something “gross” is to be avoided at all costs. It’s not always easy though to come up with ideas that are loved by kids and are also healthy enough to please other parents. Food allergies are a big factor when planning snacks as well, so always check ahead of time.
To help you be an all-star snack giver, we’ve come up with a list we think are the Top Ten Best Sports Snacks (in no particular order).
- String cheese or mini BabyBel cheeses
- Frozen green and purple seedless grapes
- Orange and/or apple slices
- Mixed berry frozen pops (raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries)
- Fruit Kabobs with apples, bananas, and pears
- Turkey, cheese & avocado tortilla pinwheel wraps
- Ice cold watermelon wedges (seed spitting contest optional!)
- Homemade trail mix with raisins, pretzel sticks, dried pineapple, puffed rice, and dried bananas
- Bing cherries
- Baby carrots and celery sticks with tzatziki sauce or low fat Ranch dressing

GO TEAM!
We know a guy or two (mmm hmmm, yeah you!) who have a room filled with memorabilia dedicated to their favorite team. So it’s no surprise many dads, and moms, look to their fave team logos and/or colors, as well as sporting equipment, for inspiration when it comes to decorating a sports-themed nursery or kid’s room.
Of course if not everyone is gung-ho on the idea of a full-on team inspired room design, we found a nice compromise. This sports-themed nursery we found on Dear Weekend blog isn’t too matchy-matchy or heavily themed and the hand painted wall art also makes it feel more custom, which should make everyone happy.
To add another personal touch, we think the Junior Varsity personalized growth chart in Sky Blue would look great, as would simpler, pennant-style personalized growth charts, like the Perfect Pennant in Roaring Red or Navy Blue or Preppy Pennant in Sky Blue.

A DAY AT THE BEACH
Are you and the kids heading out to the beach soon? We know we are and we can’t wait! We’re combing through our kids’ swim gear and making a list of must-have items.

SEA-WORTHY
Last week we gave you a sneak peek at the Under the Sea personalized growth chart – and we’re thrilled to announce our newest design is now available. Like all of our personalized growth charts, the Under the Sea design is custom printed on thick, fine artist canvas with aluminum grommets fastened on the corners, as well as on our signature heavyweight poster paper.
We think the Under the Sea wall growth charts, available in three different color options, each with a happy whale, a sweet glasses-wearing octopus, a jaunty hat-wearing turtle, a darling seahorse, and of course a myriad of colorful fish, would look adorable in any of these underwater themed nurseries.

ARE DADS THE NEW MOM'S?
The other day there was an article in the Wall Street Journal about dads being the new moms and being more involved with their kids than ever before. There’s no doubt parental responsibilities are shifting. More and more dads are seen pushing babies in strollers or wearing them in a Snuggli, out and about without a mom in sight. And whether they’re work or stay at home dads or maybe they’re one of two dads, regardless, it’s just the most endearing, sweetest sight to see men cherishing their role as parent (or supportive uncle).
We see it here with our daddy designers who aren’t just responsible for creating our adorable Big Sister Tshirt and Big Brother Tshirt designs in our line of personalized shirts for kids. While they’re dreaming up looks for a new personalized baby onesie they’re also on diaper duty or making lunch for their oldest who may be wearing one of their own Big Sister Tshirt or Big Brother Tshirt designs.
So maybe there’s no coincidence they came up with the Heart to Heart Dad Tshirtdesign just in time for Father’s Day. They want to make sure their little one is wearing it next time they go on a play date!
