Color Trend: Cranberry
We love using splashes of bold reds in our décor year round, but at this time of year, a rich cranberry hue just feels right. It’s warm and pretty and adds lots of impact to a room, whether used a little or a lot.
We found a few nurseries with cranberry colored accents and matched some of our personalized growth charts that would nicely complement them.

Naming Trend of the Week: Mayflower Names
With Thanksgiving approaching, we tend to think back to the Pilgrims who sailed here in search of a new life. And when we look at the names of many of these Pilgrims, we’re not totally surprised that their names are often still used today, including Catherine, Mary, May, Elizabeth, Thomas, James, Samuel, Isaac, and Edward.
Sure, there were some very unique monikers, like Oceanus and Peregrine, the names given to the two babies actually born onboard the Mayflower, but most were classic names that continue to be popular today.
If you’re a big fan of names you can trace back to the Mayflower, here are some 1st birthday shirts, big brother shirts, and big sister shirts that would make excellent gifts for wee ones with those names.
Royal themed big sister shirts would make great choices for an Alice, meaning noble, and Sarah, Hebrew for princess, the 127th and 47th most popular girl names in the US in 2012, respectively. (Shown: Charming Castle Big Sister Tshirt and Looks Like Me Princess Big Sister Tshirt)
1st birthday shirts with candles or stars would be perfect for little ones named Eleanor, Greek for light (#135), or Robert, meaning bright and shining (#61). (Shown: Happy to Be and 1st Birthday Shirts)
Big brother shirts show sibling pride, which is ideal for a William, meaning resolute guardian (#5), and Henry, ruler of the home (#43). (Shown: Retro Style Big Brother T shirt and Playful Owls Big Brother T shirt)

Color Trend: Night Sky
With Daylight Savings Time this past weekend, the sun has been setting earlier and earlier as it leads up to it. And while we love long sunny days, there is something really beautiful about the approach of a dark blue sky. Not to mention our kiddos tend to go to sleep a wee bit earlier as well, which makes for much easier mornings!
If you’re decorating a nursery for a soon-to-be-born babe or are considering redecorating your tot’s room, we’ve found some really gorgeous décor pieces that will allow you to infuse the hues of a calming nighttime sky.

Décor Trend: Polka Dots
Our super talented Creative Director Hillary recently created a nursery for her newborn and incorporated white vinyl wall décor dots on a soothing gray wall. Let’s just say we were totally inspired by her use of dots and other patterns.
Dots are whimsical, yet chic and can be used in so many different ways to accent a room and of course come in every color of the rainbow. That allows you to decorate your nursery in any hue from pastels to brights to neutrals, either in a subtle way or in a bold one.
We found a few other great polka dot themed nurseries we adored and paired some of our personalized growth charts with them.
Pink and brown dots give this nursery a feminine, but not too girly look, and the large dot designed Name It personalized growth chart would fit in nicely. (Image courtesy of The Bump)
