How-to Tip: Stress-free 1st Birthday Party
If you’re planning your little one’s first birthday party, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed. It’s an exciting time and a big milestone that deserves to be celebrated as such, but there are a few tips that can help make planning your wee one’s big one a bit easier, and hopefully as stress-free as possible.
Keep it simple. Ultimately the day is about your little one who isn’t expecting the world (and won’t remember it anyway!).
Pick a theme and choose 3-5 ways to easily incorporate it (cake, plates, napkins, banner, etc). This tea party theme is carried out in a simple, but pretty way and feels special without being over-the-top. (Image found on Disneybaby.com)

Let them eat cake!! If the weather’s nice, do it outside for easier clean up or if you have to be inside, spread a plastic bag or mat below your child’s high chair.

Cool Name of the Week: Cora
So many people are obsessed with Downton Abbey right now (guilty!), even using the stylish British drama as a theme for baby showers, so it’s no surprise a few names from the show are becoming popular again. Add that to the trend of grandparents names being in fashion again and over the next several years there will probably be plenty of Violets, Sibyls, Matthews (though probably no mini Mr. Bates!), and Coras, which is our Cool Name of the Week. Though Lady Grantham is an American married into a traditional English family, the name Cora is actually of Greek origin meaning “maiden,” though “filled heart” is another meaning as well.
