We are often asked, “what is the best type of pen to use to write on my growth chart?” Below we’ve compiled a few of our favorites for you to choose from.
First off, you’ve got the old classic — the Sharpie. Sharpie makes fine point permanent markers in a plethora of colors (39 to be exact!). They are permanent, fade resistant, water resistant, quick-drying and certified non-toxic. Sharpie markers work great on our canvas or paper personalized growth charts.

Sharpie also makes what is called a “paint marker”. There are many other brands that also make paint marker that you will find at your local art supply or crafting store. A paint market is a great choice for our canvas personalized growth charts because they are water and fade resistant, acid free, archival quality, safe for children, and available in many opaque colors that work great on light or dark materials.
