DIY: KID'S BIRTHDAY PARTY PHOTO BOOTH

When we were kids, one of the best things about going to the fair each summer was the photobooths, posing and making funny faces in black & white, color or with funny props. Now it’s easy enough to rent a photo booth, which are perfect for birthday parties. Not only are they a great activity to get the kids laughing and having fun, they’re a wonderful way to record the events of the party. Of course you can always create a photo area with a cool background and props if you don’t (or can’t) rent a photo booth.
Use the theme of the party to inspire the scene:

(Superhero photo booth from CatchMyParty)

(Hot Air Balloon photobooth from OhHappyDay)

(Circus photo booth from ApartmentTherapy)

Use props:

  • oversized glasses
  • mustaches (click here to download free printables)
  • conversation bubbles with funny sayings
  • hats, like berets, top hats, newsboys, etc
  • wigs, capes or masks

We picked four of our favorite designs in our line of personalized shirts for kids for inspiration for backgrounds:

  • Superhero personalized birthday shirts – an outline of an urban city skyline or oversized, multi-colored stars
  • Balloon Birthday personalized birthday shirts – an actual Balloon Wall or a hot air balloon with blue sky and clouds
  • Over the Rainbow Big Sister Tshirt – a rainbow and cloud oversized picture frame
  • Batter Up Big Brother Tshirt – a baseball diamond or stadium outline with logo of favorite baseball team

Want another fun idea?  Use wall growth charts as props, allowing kids to pose next to them individually and/or as a group to record their heights.
