Can you believe it’s December already?! We’re in the thick of decking the halls, holiday shopping lists, parties, egg nog and Christmas lights. Every year we’re looking for new, fun ways to make the holiday season magical and festive for our little ones. We created a 12 Days of Christmas Mailbox, full of fun notes and ideas for your to do with your little ones this month …
YOU’LL NEED:
-cereal box
-our free printables (download them here)
-ribbon
-scissors
-glue or tape
STEP ONE Pull apart your cereal box and lay it flat. Cut a mail slot on one side and a flap on the other.
STEP TWO Take the red polka dot you can print out here. Glue a piece of it above the flap.
STEP THREE Glue or tape your cereal box back together so it’s inside out.
STEP FOUR string a ribbon though the top.
Decorate your mailbox! This is the fun part. You can let you little one join in on this one. let them do what they want to make their box special.
Write a special message, something fun to do or a saying along with a gift on each of the 12 numbered cards (download our numbered cards here).
When your child goes to sleep place the numbered cards, one at a time, in the mail slot for each day counting down to Christmas.
Some ideas include:
-make Christmas cookies together
-drive around and see the Christmas lights
-open a book from under the tree and read it tonight
-visit grandma
-make hot cocoa
-pop popcorn and watch favorite Christmas movie
-take a treat to your neighbor
-make a snowman
-go caroling
-stay up 10 minutes past bedtime
-a trip to the library for Christmas books
-paint christmas pictures
