Our team of mom and dad designers may not be in school anymore, but we get the feeling we can tell what some of their favorite classes were by the designs they’ve created for our line of personalized Tshirts for kids. So if your little ones are anything like us, they may gravitate towards certain tees depending on their favorite school subjects.
We’ve paired the perfect Tshirt to go with some classes we know our designers never missed!

THE GAMES WE PLAY
Last week we shared some of our favorite characters and the lessons they help us teach our kids, but after all of the hustle and bustle of getting kids in school and readjusting to the new schedule, we thought we all needed a little fun! So this week we’re thinking about our favorite games. Indoors or out, we all have games we’ve loved since childhood or have discovered with our mini-me’s.
Hillary loves all kinds of games – card games, board games, etc. “We loved them all. Some of my fonder memories growing up were playing card games with my family at Thanksgiving. We had grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles, cousins all playing the same game.” And her creativity (hello, have you seen her Handmade by Hillary DIY’s?) extends to making up games with her little girl, including matching, animal sounds, color sorting, etc.

Classic games that are fun for all ages are the ones Paula likes best. “Hide & Seek and Red Light/Green Light are faves because they work for all ages….ALL ages…which is hard to find.” The Stop & Go DIY on our FUN page can add another fun element – craft it, then play it!
What games did you love as a kid and still play (or can’t wait to play) with your wee ones?

CAN YOU FIND ME? PERSONALIZED GROWTH CHART
Personalized growth charts combine form and function – they accent a nursery’s décor while providing a record of your child’s height – but did you know they can also be fun and interactive?
Both the My Town personalized growth chart and the My City personalized growth chart feature adorable icons, like ice cream cones, animals, cars, and symbols, at the bottom of each for kids to search out and identify.
Like the classic “Where’s Waldo?” books, your little ones will have loads of fun finding each object in these richly designed, interactive personalized growth charts. You can even turn it into a timed game as they grow older and more familiar with each item’s location, to see how fast they can find each object. You can then record their time alongside their height to see their progress.
MONOGRAMMED TO A TEE
If you’re anything like us, you thought long and hard about what to name your little one. After all, your personal style, personality and nationality are often reflected in your child’s name, which is probably why you love it so much. Our talented team of mommy and daddy designers had this in mind when they created our line of personalized tshirts for kids. As a result, each adorable design displays your child’s name, or initial, loud and clear, right where you can see and admire it.
We’re especially excited about our growing collection of monogrammed big sister tshirt and big brother tshirt designs. If this trend is up your preppy alley, take a look at some of the adorable designs we’ve created so far.
Clockwise: All Mixed Up, Glitter Monogram, Crane Monogram, Big Balloon Monogram, Balloon Bouquet Monogram

CHARACTER LESSONS
There’s a lot of singing going on in our house, everything from educational songs to just plain silly ones. We especially love songs that are catchy and deliver a positive behavioral message, like Yo Gabba Gabba’s “Don’t Bite Your Friends,” or an informative lesson, like Bubble Guppies’ “Sun Beautiful Sun” about the solar system. Entertaining and educational? Yes, please!
And since we’re all moms and dads, we’re always sharing with each other tips and tricks for what works well, so we thought we’d share with you a few characters our team and their wee ones love to learn from:
Hillary says daughter Lily likes Charlie & Lola. “Charlie & Lola is fun. It teaches about fun sibling relationships, compassion, sharing and patience. They also speak with British accents which is adorable.”
Alma and her lil ones love Curious George because “he teaches curiosity, lifelong learning, and positivity/optimism!” No wonder George is a classic, those are things we want for ourselves, as well as our children.
Paula thinks Dora the Explorer is fabulous, “it’s proactive, teaches kids to explore and tackle new things.”
What characters do you and your kiddos like?

WHAT’S IN A NAME
Between all of the kids our little ones meet at school and the orders we take for our personalized growth charts and tshirts, we come across a wide range of names, everything from the classic to the most interesting. We’re fascinated by names and the stories, inspirations and meanings behind them, so we thought we’d share a few of the most popular names, as well as a couple of unique ones.
Jacob is the #1 name for boys in the US, so it’s no surprise we’ve had a large number of orders for Jacob/Jake in the past year.
We think that the Kardashian’s must have a big influence over baby names as the demand for décor and tees personalized with Mason and Chloe this last year has increased.
And in the non-traditional names category, we just loved the order for Fifi & JoJo, as well as Maximus. We doubt they’ll ever need to be called by their name plus last initial in class.
Some of the other top-selling names and a quick meaning of each (according to Babyzone.com) include:
EMMA – Of German origin, meaning complete, whole, universal
AVERY – Of English origin, meaning Elf ruler, implying leadership with supernatural wisdom
JOSEPH – Of Hebrew origin, meaning May God give increase
GRAYSON – Of English origin, meaning son of the reeve or Gray-haired; son of the Gray family; son of Gregory
AVA – Of Hebrew origin, meaning like a bird; also of Persian origin, meaning voice
NICHOLAS – Of Greek origin, meaning victorious
CAMERON – Of Celtic/Gaelic/Scottish origin, meaning crooked nose (really?!)
NATHAN – Of Hebrew origin, meaning gift from God

NOW I KNOW MY ABC’s
We sing the ABCs with our little ones all the time, alphabet posters are hung in their rooms, reading books is a daily activity, and their names are on tees from our line of personalized tshirts for kids. These are all ways we’re helping them recognize letters and words, but we’re still always on the lookout for new ways to incorporate the alphabet into their lives to help make learning it easier.
We loved this quirky video utilizing refrigerator letter magnets and the alphabet song:
This ABC mat can be used to create a variety of games with words and letters:
