BABY SHOWER THEME TRENDS: HEARTS & LOVE

If you have a February baby on the way, a “hearts & love” themed baby shower is a really sweet idea. Pink and purple hearts are great if you’re expecting a baby girl, while red or neutral colored hearts could work for boys, girls or even a gender neutral shower.

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT – JULIA W.

On our blog we talk a lot of about our talented mommy and daddy designers and how they work hard to create our unique line of baby keepsakes, including personalized growth charts, alphabet posters, and personalized tshirts for kids. Well we thought it was time to give you a little inside look at the inspiration behind some of the designs by going straight to the individual designer.
This week we asked designer Julia W. about her inspiration for one of our newest big sister tees, the Sweet Treat Big Sister Tshirt, which is truly sweet indeed. Here’s what she had to say:

I have always had an affinity for doodling. I spent my childhood doodling in sketch pads, in the margins of my homework…basically any writable surface. Once in college, I took plenty of “serious” art and design classes, but I would always find myself going back to my “doodly” ways, creating things free-form, from my own imagination and not following any particular set of artistic rules. Working for Petite Lemon has now legitimized me as a professional doodler, which is pretty much a childhood dream fulfilled!
I came up with the style for the Sweet Treat tee from a (what else?!) doodle that I did while sitting next to my 18 month old who was taking a bath…I’ve learned to multitask! I am particularly excited about designing for children since I had her, and her sweet, youthful energy brings out my own. Even better: I started designing this tee shortly after I found out I was pregnant with my second baby which is due this June! You better believe I’ll be dressing them in Petite Lemon Big Sis/Lil Sis tees soon!

WE'RE THINKING ABOUT SOME NEW HUES FOR OUR PERSONALIZED GROWTH CHARTS

Bright and bold or pastel and pretty, our personalized growth charts are available in a wide range of hues to match almost any room. We can’t get enough color though, so we’re planning to expand into even more shades and tones, and of course that means we want your feedback! Is there a particular color you love most and would like to see on one of our personalized growth charts?

As the littlest members of the Kardashian clan, Mason and Penelope Disick have a lot of keeping up to do when it comes to the jetset lifestyle of their famous family. From coast to coast, they’re always on the go and always dressed to a tee. We were glued to the TV when Prince William married Kate Middleton and now we couldn’t be more thrilled that the royally named Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is pregnant with their first child. We love this classic name, of Greek origin meaning “pure,” so much we’ve chosen it as our Cool Name of the Week. And we love that there are different ways of spelling it (Kathryn, Katherine) and nicknames (Cat, Kate, Katie, Cathy), so it’s easy to add your own personal twist to it.
Since there have been many regal ladies throughout history named Catherine, we picked out a personalized growth chart and big sister tees in a royal theme to highlight this Cool Name of the Week.

HANGING PAPER PERSONALIZED GROWTH CHARTS

Earlier this week we posted a great new how-to video on hanging canvas personalized growth charts (click here), but we’ve also come up with two fresh ideas for hanging paper charts using a baby clothes hanger or a ribbon.

Using Baby Clothes Hanger
1. Attach the growth chart to the hanger (a pants hanger is best, but any one with clips will work)
2. Hang the clothes hanger onto a 3M wall hook
Using a Ribbon
1. Using a wooden paint stir stick (cut down to size if needed), attach it to the top back of the growth chart with a glue dot or other adhesive. If needed, attach one to the bottom to add weight if the chart is curling.
2. Cut ribbon to size, then tie a knot in the top and glue it to the back of the wooded paint stir stick
3. Hang it up on a 3M wall hook
