COOL NAME OF THE WEEK: CARTER

Right now, giving boys last names as first names – like Cooper, Carter, Lincoln, or Miller – seems trendy, but they certainly aren’t new. A few Carter’s have made their mark on American history, like Carter Braxton who signed the Declaration of Independence and Carter Woodson, an African-American writer and historian who founded Black History Month, which is why we’ve chosen it as our Cool Name of the Week.
Of English origin meaning “one who transports goods by cart or wagon,” we’ve chosen a mix of our transportation and construction themed big brother tshirts, personalized growth charts, and 1st birthday onesies that represent the meaning of the name Carter.

Designer Spotlight: Karl

We love shining the spotlight on our fabulous mommy and daddy designers who create the best personalized growth charts, big brother tshirts, big sister tees, 1st birthday shirts, etc that will become treasured baby keepsakes for our dear customers. So far we’ve highlighted a few mommy designers and today we’re sharing some inspiration from daddy designer Karl.

Karl created the Busy Bulldozer Big Brother Tshirt and used his three boys for inspiration. He says, “When I’m working on a design I think, ‘what would my boys wear on their shirts? What excites them?’ My designs tend to come from their world, which involves Cars, Dinosaurs, Monsters, Dirt, and Noise. Lots of Dirt and Noise!”

In this often crazy, hectic world, we all appreciate a little bit of graciousness. And when we are lucky enough to have a newborn come into our lives, we are graced by their presence. So in honor of that lovely feeling, our Cool Name of the Week is Grace. Of Latin origin, this name is probably as popular for a first name as it is a middle name.
