Nursery Décor Trend: Metallics

Last week while writing about Cool Ceilings, we also realized we’re equally in love with another trend that’s as popular in fashion as it is in home décor – metallics. Adding shine and sophistication, metallic sheens like gold, bronze, and silver make gorgeous accents that can easily transition from a nursery to a toddler room, and even all the way into the teen years. Introducing our Brand Enthusiasts! One Happy Mama

In addition to writing our blog and creating fun freebies, personalized growth chart designs, big brother shirts and big sister shirts, we’re also parents that look to mommy and daddy bloggers for inspiration, information, and of course, sheer entertainment. So we thought it was a great idea to work with some of our favorites and invited select bloggers to join us as exclusive brand enthusiasts! These fantastic mamas and daddies will be opening up their lives to us — sharing their personal stories about their children’s celebrations and life’s special moments throughout the coming months. We are so excited to welcome them into the Petite Lemon family!
Our first Brand Enthusiast is Kristina of One Happy Mama! Kristina, a married mama of three homeschooled kiddos, founded One Happy Mama in 2008. One Happy Mama blog is all about Kristina’s life and her loves, which include documenting memories through photography and scrapbooking with Project Life, all things craftiness and design with her shop Baby Bird and Bub Bub, using essential oils in her life, and Caylin’s Cure, a fundraiser she started for her daughter who has Type 1 diabetes.
One Happy Mama is a GREAT place to find inspiration for life!! Kristina is such a delightful, fresh, real mama and we love working with her.

Petite Lemon in Real Life: Sophie & Brock

It just makes us so happy to see siblings proudly wearing their big sister shirts or big brother shirts along with their “littles.” We could easily bust out singing Pharell Williams’ song Happy whenever a customer sends us their adorable pix or posts them on social media.
This week we have Sophie (22 months) and Brock (2 months) wearing their matching Patterned Delight Big Sister Tshirt and Little Brother Onesie.

Mom Erika loves the quality of Petite Lemon tees and tells us she had a onesie for Sophie that she wore from the day she got it when it was still a little big for her until it was way too small! And now her big sister tshirt is just as soft and durable, plus it has helped Sophie transition to big sisterhood. Erika says, “Because there isn’t much of an age difference between Soph and Brock, it did take her a little while to warm up to him, but now she’s all about loving him! Currently she loves kissing him goodnight and her favorite is getting ready for bed together. Putting their PJs on at the same time is hilarious to her.”

Wow, we love hearing that! And we know that if the time ever comes when Brock needs a big brother t shirt, we’ll be ready!

Wallpaper, paint and/or wall decals are great ways to bring together a theme in a nursery, but for something really special, look up! What We Love Now: Aquamarine

March babies have one of the prettiest birthstones, the aquamarine. We love this beautiful blue which reminds us of the ocean, and not be coincidence, as the name aquamarine is derived from the Latin word aqua, meaning water, and marina, meaning the sea. And when it comes to personalized baby gifts or décor, it works just as well for boys as it does for girls.

As much as we like it when our little ones wear matching outfits, sometimes they want to express themselves and be a bit different. That doesn’t mean they can’t coordinate though. To help we’ve put together some outfit ideas with personalized onesies and big sister shirts and big brother shirts.

For sisters, pair the Colorful Big Sister Tshirt and Modern Name onesie with matching colored pants.

We have to admit, we’re pretty proud of our line of personalized baby gifts, but when mommy bloggers talk about them in glowing terms, well we’re pretty much over the moon about it. So of course we wanted to share some of their (and just as importantly, their kiddos’) reactions to our personalized growth charts. They’re big fans, you can take their word for it!

The Mommy Island and her son’s On the Go personalized growth chart. “He was so excited when his chart arrived. I explained what the growth chart was for, but he absolutely loved the design and had to point out each vehicle and tell me what they were. Pictured above you can see the fun details and the Booper in the middle of his “So Big!” pose. He couldn’t stop looking at his new room decoration. The spot where we marked his growth is covered by his hand and arm, but he’s so proud.”

Artsy Fartsy Mama and her daughter’s Colorful Words personalized growth chart: “The fun, descriptive words for each inch are probably my favorite part of the design. Zoey loves that it has her name on it, and is always asking what word she measures up to. “Bright” is a pretty accurate word to describe her right now!”

We just love seeing pictures of children enjoying their personalized growth charts and hearing how much they love marking milestones with them. It makes what we do that much more fulfilling!
