One of the benefits of siblings sharing a room is the time they can be together and grow close, but it’s also important for them to know they have space of their own too. Of course personalized items always help define individuality, but other ways are to either find décor pieces that are different, yet coordinate well and are tied together by color or overall theme, or involve totally separating spaces, like on GirlsGoneChild, where she literally put a line down the middle of the room and decorated each side completely different.
For example, if one girl loves the Fairytale personalized growth chart, and she’s sharing with a sister, the Sprinkled Flowers or Butterfly Kisses personalized growth charts would coordinate well together.
If a boy likes the Dinomite in blue personalized growth chart and shares a room with his brother, the Cheeky Dot or Preppy Pennant in Sky Blue personalized growth chartsare very different, yet still coordinate through color.
CUSTOM COLORS
Have you loved our personalized growth charts and alphabet posters and thought to yourself, “if only that came in another color”? Like if the Balloon Party personalized growth chart came in shades of blues and greens or if the Color Me personalized growth chart came in pastels. Well, we’ll let you in on a little secret – IT CAN!
Yes, you heard that right. We do offer custom color orders. Even better? There’s no extra cost to create custom colors, just simply let us know in the Additional Instructions section when placing an order and we’ll get to work to make it happen.
And if a custom color becomes so popular, we’ll add it into our line permanently. Check out this previous blog post about our friend Kim and the nursery she designed (click here), and the alphabet poster color scheme we created to match it. After the post ran, so many customers asked about it, so now anyone can buy it:

NURSERY DECOR TREND: Gray for boys
Often we think of white or cream as a neutral background for nurseries, but gray is also an ideal neutral that plays well with a wide range of colors, and is especially beautiful in a boy’s room. We’ve found some really inspiring nursery designs on Pinterest and accented them with personalized growth charts that further enhance the space.
Simple gray on gray is clean, pretty, and gender neutral, but adding a touch of blue, like with this Preppy Pennant personalized growth chart, adds a classic boyish element to the room. (Image found on Pinterest)
The yellow of the curtains and this Design for MiniKind personalized growth chart adds a bright contrast to light gray and blue. (Image found on Pinterest)
Pops of lime green and aqua blue really stand out again gray walls and accents in this nursery, as well as the Shooting Star personalized growth chart. (Image found on Pinterest)

Nursery Decor Trend: Balloons
Balloons are whimsical, bright, colorful, and can convey a sense of adventure, which makes them an excellent theme for a nursery. We found some inspiring balloon themed nursery designs and paired them with a few of our personalized growth charts that we felt would further enhance the look of the room.
This hot air balloon banner from Postscripts on Etsy is super adorable and works for both boys and girls, which is why we’d pair it with the My Town personalized growth chart.
Light and bright, the Up Up Away personalized growth chart would make a perfect colorful accent to this airy nursery. (Image courtesy of Christy Johnson, Be True Image Design)
We love that this salon style art installation near the baby’s crib includes personal photos and objects while incorporating the nursery’s balloon theme, so the Balloon Party personalized growth chart would make an excellent addition. (Image courtesy of Miss Whit-any blog)

Nursery Décor: Trucks & Cars
Once you’ve chosen the theme for your baby’s nursery, it’s easy to overdo it with themed décor items. Keep it simple; yet fun by choosing five elements that will have a big impact without being overwhelming. We’ve found these five car & truck themed décor pieces that will pull a nursery together nicely.
A colorful mobile to hang over the crib, like this felt car and truck one from LincKids on Etsy
Finish Line, Let’s Get to Work, On the Go personalized growth charts
A personalized growth chart that focuses on a specific type of car or truck, or incorporates both into the design adds decoration while recording baby’s growth.
A homemade quilt or crib set, like this one from Graco.
Lighting is always important, so a nightlight, lamp, or lampshade will be functional, as well as decorative — we love this one from Etsy shop, BuoKids.
A “wow” piece, like this monogrammed car and road wall art we found on DesignDazzle, will create a great focal point in the room.
Many of these can be saved as baby keepsakes and/or transition to a big kid room as well, which means they’re good investments.
NURSERY DECOR COLOR TRENDS: PINK!!
Love the color pink? We sure do! There are so many different shades of this sweet hue that it’s easy to create the perfect nursery to fit your style. We’ve found a few pink colored nursery designs that we adore and paired them with our personalized growth charts.
This zoo animal-themed nursery proves pink can be fun, without being ultra girly, and our Zoo Friends personalized growth chart pairs perfectly. (Image Courtesy of HomeKlondike)
Feminine, not frilly, this sweet mod designed nursery would look great with either the Name It or Sprinkled Flowers personalized growth charts. (Image Courtesy of Décor Pad)

BRIGHT & BOLD NURSERY DECOR
Love bold, bright colors? We do too, which is why we’ve rounded up some great ways to add a bit of juicy color to your nursery, even if you are a renter and can’t paint.
While neutral furniture is usually a smart choice, having a piece or two of brightly colored furniture can make a big impact. We’ve found some great examples, as well as the personalized growth charts that would make great complementary accents.
Though there’s a lot of color and pattern in this nursery, the hot pink dresser still stands out as a focal point. The Preppy Pennant personalized growth chart in Aqua would add another element of color to the room without conflicting with the overall design. (Image courtesy of Project Nursery)
Whites and grays provide a calm background, while a teal dresser and patterned rug give a pop of colorful personality. Adding another multi-hued accent, like the Monkey Pals, Finish Line, or Shooting Star personalized growth charts would give the space a bit of whimsy as well. (Image courtesy of Pinterest)
What we like about this nursery is the use of light aqua as a neutral, allowing the bright yellow crib to stand out, while complementing the variety of punchy colors in the wall art, chair cushion and valance. The Animal Crackers personalized growth chart would perfectly bring together the range of yellows, oranges, reds, and blues used throughout the room. (Image courtesy of Pinterest)
This chair and ottoman really stand out in this primarily white room, not just for its cool mod design, but also its strong shade of pink. Personalized growth charts, like All About Love or Up Up Away, would give some custom character to the space and add a little extra color. (Image courtesy of Project Nursery)
These personalized growth charts accent each space’s design and once outgrown, they can be saved as ideal baby keepsakes.

GETTING PERSONAL!
We love names, they inspire us and what we do, but personalization isn’t just about a first name. There are a variety of ways to create personalized tshirts for kids or childrens growth charts that fit any family’s style.
Though there is a 12 character limit, personalization is also about customization. Here are a few different ways to create the perfect look:
Instead of one name, show off two, like the Over the Rainbow big sister tshirt which features both sisters’ names, or this Butterfly Kisses personalized growth chart which has both the first and middle names.
Make it a family affair, like the My Town and Picture Me personalized growth charts, which can highlight the last name (especially great for kids who share a room or maybe even for the grandparent’s house)!
Monsterrific, Perfect Pennant, and Name it personalized growth charts
If there are multiple kids, consider a personalized growth chart that says “Sisters,” “Brothers,” or your nickname for them, like “Angels”.
FLAG THIS TREND! Personalized Growth Chart Pennants
The pennant trend for kids rooms continues to be popular (click here for the DIY pennant tutorial we created earlier this year) and we can totally understand why – it’s super sweet and totally versatile!
Make our DIY fabric pennant!
The flag pennant we created looks great hanging softly above the crib, but here are a few other places you can hang one.
Frame a window, like in this fun playroom we found on Pinterest.
Hung loosely above the bed as an accent or in place of a headboard, like this shot we found on PlaceToBloom.
Draped near the changing table, this pennant offers a colorful focal point for babies (as seen on MadeByGirl)
Decorate a crib with a patchwork of colorful fabric, like this one on ApartmentTherapy.
And of course our pennant-style personalized growth charts perfectly complement this trend. Would you use the pastel hues of the Preppy Pennant personalized growth chart or the bright shades of the Perfect Pennant personalized growth chart?
BEAUTIFUL CHOCOLATE NURSERIES
Fall is such a beautiful time of year, with so many colors to inspire décor options for nurseries. Reds, oranges, yellows, and greens are all rich colors, but right now we’re especially loving the idea of chocolate brown. It works equally well for boys and girls, for accent pieces or focal points, adding a warmth and depth to the room.
We rounded up some of our favorite nurseries that feature this delicious hue, which is your favorite?
This chocolate brown polka dotted chair is a beautiful focal point in this nursery (image found on Pinterest), which would be accented nicely with the graphic patterns on the 1 to 10 personalized growth chart.
Woodland themed personalized growth charts would work well in this sweet, cozy feeling nursery and add just the right amount of color. (image from Pinterest)
With so many graphic accents, like this stunning brown chevron print rug, it’s best to keep it simple with pennant-style personalized growth charts in coordinating colors. (Image from Pinterest)
The chocolate brown wall adds a touch of sophistication to this whimsical giraffe-themed white and pink nursery, which would be nicely complemented with our Zoo Friends personalized growth chart. (image found on Pinterest)
Textures and patterns keep this brown nursery from feeling too dark and to add some lightness, we would add a pop or two of color, like with the vibrant letters on our Spell My Name personalized growth chart (Image from Pinterest)
