The Olympics start this Friday, February 7th and we’re super excited to watch these world-class athletes from around the globe bring their very best to a variety of winter sports competitions.
Though the Olympics have three official languages – English, French, and the language of the hosting country –the number of languages that can be heard at each competition will vary greatly. And though the competing athletes may speak many different languages, they all have the same goal – to win gold. We think that’s pretty cool and it’s one of the things we love most about our multi-lingual Around the World Big Brother T shirt and Big Sister Tshirt, which features seven different ways to say the same thing – big brother or big sister.
The iconic symbol of the Olympics are the five interlocking rings in blue, yellow, black, green, and red on a white background. These colors represent all of the flags of the countries that competed in the Olympic games in 1912 when this design was initially created. Very cool, right? We love that symbolism as well as the primary colors which we’re big fans of. We regularly use those hues in many of the designs in our line of personalized baby gifts.

Though there will always be some political element that can distract from the Olympics , we will always be fascinated and impressed by the commitment these athletes show and greatly look forward to seeing them at their very best. What is your favorite sporting event during the winter Olympics?
